Fashion industry's environmental policy: Social media and corporate website as vehicles for communicating corporate social responsibility

Society requires companies to adopt ethical and responsible behavior with regard environmental policies in order achieve sustainable development. One of the most controversial sectors terms production is fashion industry. This study analyzes extent which seven biggest brands Spain around world communicate their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) (specifically, those related sustainability). To this end, we identify social media platforms used by target audiences for these brands, apply an exploratory, descriptive methodology a content analysis communication about CSR policies, both formal (corporate websites) informal (social media). The objective whether activities practices context CSR. Our findings confirm that analyzed have integrated sustainability protection initiatives into policies. However, although they do on corporate websites, rarely so media. We thus conclude could make better use raise awareness educate customers sustainability.
